Christmas Light Installation Cost and Pricing
How much does professional Christmas light installation cost?
Every project is priced to the home or building. Last season our average residential project was about $2,200, and larger homes and full-property designs run higher. Commercial projects are quoted individually. See residential pricing for what moves the price.
What's included in the price?
Design, commercial-grade LED lights, professional installation, in-season service, January takedown and off-season storage. One price covers the whole season.
Do I have to buy the lights?
No. We use a leasing model and provide the lights, so there's nothing for you to buy, replace or store.
Is the consultation free?
Yes. Your consultation and design are free, with no obligation.
Do you need to visit my home to give me a price?
No. A quick call and a photo of your home are all we need to create your rendering and price.
Can you use my own Christmas lights?
We only install and service the lights we provide, which keeps every display safe, consistent and easy to service. Other decorations you'd like included are fine; just tell us on your call so we can plan around them.
Scheduling and season
Scheduling, Takedown and Storage
When should I book Christmas light installation?
As early as you can. The earlier you book, the more install dates you can choose from.
When do you install Christmas lights?
We install from October through the first two weeks of December.
When do you take Christmas lights down?
Takedowns start after the first week of January and run through the month, at a time that works for you.
What happens if a light goes out during the season?
In-season service is included. Call or text (240) 801-6453 and we come back to fix it so your display stays lit all season.
Where are my lights stored after the season?
After takedown we label, box and store your lights in our secure, climate-controlled facility until next season.
Lights and design
Lights, Design and What We Install
What kind of lights do you use?
Commercial-grade LED lights. They're brighter and more weather-resistant than standard store-bought strands, and use much less energy than incandescent bulbs.
Will I see my design before anything is installed?
Yes. You get a custom rendering of your own home with the lights on, along with your price, before install day.
Should I choose warm white or multicolor lights?
Warm white is the classic, elegant look and suits brick, stone and painted siding. Multicolor feels nostalgic and playful. Many homes mix the two, with warm white on the roofline and color in the trees, and your rendering lets you compare before you decide.
Do you light trees and shrubs?
Yes. We wrap tree trunks and canopies and light shrubs along the front of the house. See tree and shrub lighting.
Are LED Christmas lights energy efficient?
Yes. Commercial-grade LEDs use significantly less energy than traditional incandescent lights, so a full display costs less to run.
